"Perfection consists not in doing extraordinary things, but in doing ordinary things extraordinarily well" - Angelique Arnauld

"You were born to win, but to be a winner you must plan to win, prepare to win and expect to win. If you don’t see yourself as a winner, then you cannot perform as a winner" – Zig Ziglar.

  • Virtual PACES Tutor

This is a fresh and innovative approach to help you with your PACES preparation. PACES candidates rely heavily on the clinical courses to improve their chances of passing the examination. They are no doubt helpful to polish your skills and see some good cases but as you may have seen in the introductory presentation, the pass percentage of MRCP PACES does not go up significantly even after taking clinical courses. In fact, something more is required in order to pass the examination; you need right advice, highly effective practical tips and focussed practice sessions.

In order to make your PACES preparation complete, introducing:

    Virtual PACES Tutor:

    • A new concept in PACES teaching.
    • Doesn't matter if this is your first attempt or third, you will find it helpful.
    • Live, video based one-to-one or group practice sessions and you can access the sessions from anywhere in the world.
    • Topics covered will include:
    • Ethics & Communication
    • History taking
    • Some station 5 scenarios*
    • Case presentation technique
    • How to develop slickness and exude confidence
    • How to mentally spruce up yourself for success.
    • Your sojourn with Virtual PACES Tutor will start with an introductory session in which you will be given sound practical tips and proper preparation method will be outlined.
    • This will be followed by practice sessions spread over the duration of your membership.
    • In between the sessions, if you have any queries you can still get in touch.
    • The subscription for Virtual PACES Tutor will last for 8 weeks or till your exams (whichever is earliest). After this, I will expect you to email me with your results saying that you have passed PACES.

    Notes from the presentation:
*Station 5 consists of three main components: A focused history, a quick examination followed by discussion of management plan. Your PACES Tutor can discuss the first and third component and in terms of examination you can tell what you are going to examine (or even show on the webcam!).
**Depending on the space and visibility on your webcam your Virtual PACES Tutor should be able to comment on your examination technique as well.
